The God who is has always been full. Never lonely. Never needing us, or anything, or anyone, because from all eternity the Father has loved the Son and the Son has loved the Father in the fellowship of the Spirit. “You loved me before the foundation of the world,” the Son says to the Father (John 17:24). Before there was a single creature to love, love was already ancient. God did not create the world to fill a lack in Himself; He created freely, from fullness, the way a fountain overflows. This is the God so far above us that the highest heavens cannot contain Him, and so near that He numbers the hairs of your head. He was not made. He will not end. He depends on nothing and no one, and everything that exists depends on Him for its next breath.
Stand there for a moment, because from that height you can see every counterfeit god at once, and see what they all have in common. They are all smaller.
A god who was once a man, who climbed his way up to godhood, who is one god among many, is not a higher view of God. It is an infinitely smaller one. A god who is a solitary person wearing masks is smaller. A god who had a beginning, or a body, or a superior, or a counterpart, is smaller. The true God has no origin, no rival, and no equal. To trade Him for any other is not an upgrade. It is the loss of God Himself.
