On today’s DL broadcast, once again guest hosting in Dr. James White’s absence, I taught from Acts 16:1-15. I discussed the Apostle Paul’s mission strategy as it relates to the circumcision of Timothy, the closing and the opening of doors for the gospel, and God’s activity in opening the heart of man.

“I could be Scottish, I could be, but God had mercy on me and I was born in Chester” ???? LOOOL
Anyway, God’s mercy was extended to you even further when you and your family were brought out of England to America.
I enjoyed the exposition yesterday and today with regard to why Paul required that Timothy be circumcised. There is a very big difference between doing things because they a requirement by God doctrinally, and doing things that are prudent under the circumstances. I’m not sure whether you mentioned it or not, but Paul also spoke in terms of making concessions for the sake of peace and harmony in the church in Acts 15:29, with the exception of course of sexual immorality. The other thing being required of them for the sake of maintaining unity under the circumstances. Unfortunately some groups like Jehovah’s witnesses and perhaps others build doctrine on these points such as the issue of ingesting, or taking blood intravenously.
